Book reviews

The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (audiobook read by Stephen Fry) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is an excellent collection of stories from meeting Sherlock’s brother Mycroft to his run in with Moriarty. Stephen Fry is an excellent storyteller and he does a personal introduction at the beginning sharing his love for the sleuth.

Where The Crawdads Sing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kyra is a beautiful soul, she is curious, shy and eager to learn. She has to learn to take care of herself from a young age after people filter out of her life. Nature becomes her nurture and she finds a handful of people that she can trust. Then she is accused of murder and she is whipped away from her world. An endearing story with the most beautiful descriptions.

The Cove ⭐️⭐️

I found the book anticlimactic and I struggled to connect with any of the characters.

The Curfew ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The book is suspenseful with more questions at every turn. But it mostly features characters who don’t believe their children would do anything as serious as murder and cover up as much as possible.
