Day 2 at MS life was another informative day in a place that I can feel completely at home in. I was so nervous when going to day 1. People always stare because I walk funny. At Manchester Central, most people walked funny! I wasn’t the strange one anymore! Well not for my walk at any rate…
Day 2 started with Super Sarah booking herself in for a massage. This is my idea of a nightmare as I don’t like strange people touching me! We then started making our way around the stalls we did not have time to approach yesterday.
I attended a few very interesting chats with the professionals. Then the fun really stated! I had a shot on a very interesting trike. The difference with this trike was that the two wheels were at the front, rather than the traditional set up of two wheels at the back. I did find it tricky to lean into the turns which actually facilitated turning (I would be useless on a motorbike!). So when turning left, I had to lean to the left. Now I am pretty certain that my left side is plotting to kill me so I am not 100% comfortable with leaning on that side! In all honesty, this bike was the coolest.

I tried another two bikes which were fantastic and much more suited to my abilities! I had so much fun, it has been so long since I have been able to use an actual bike due to balance issues. I had forgotten the childish glee that you get from speeding about! At around £800 for a trike though, it will be a while before I can make this investment!

My second exercise class of the trip was a Pilates class. Super Sarah was a helper at this class and was speeding around with ideas to help my fellow MSers with her wonderful ideas and tips! This was whilst I wrestled with resistance bands, paper plates and kicking away my exercise ball, and that was even before that class had started! I found Pilates quite challenging, but that may be why I like it!
After a successful weekend at MS Life 2014, we decided that a celebratory dinner was in order. Where shall we go I wonder? We simply could not accept that last night’s burrito was the last so yes, we went there again! Are we sad that we did not try any other eateries when in Manchester? No way, you obviously haven’t tried these burritos!
It is a great feeling to know that I am not alone in this world with my strange walk and there some fantastic people to share experiences with. I have loved every moment and cannot wait until the next! A good time was had by all!
